Bank serviced offices

Famous for being the banking area of our Capital City, it also houses one of the busiest peak time stations as well. The tube station is the eighth busiest on the underground network and is serviced by five lines plus the Docklands Light Railway, making travel in and around London particularly easy.

History and background of Bank

Bank in central London is so named because it houses the Bank of England. Bank is in the rich heartland of the nation’s capital, and is situated along King William Street in the City of London. King William Street, by the way, is known for its investment banks and other financial institutions - not unsurprising when you consider it's proximity to the B of E.

Bank station was hit during the Blitz during WW2 when a German bomb hit the central ticket hall and 57 people were killed. Since then, on 7 September 2003, Bank station was used for a disaster training exercise, billed as "the most realistic live disaster exercise of its kind". The event was intended to prepare the emergency services for mass decontamination in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear attack.

But Bank is not just about banks and stations; the Royal Exchange is located here between Threadneedle Street and Cornhill, created by Sir Thomas Gresham who first mooted the idea in circa 1565. Gresham was a prosperous City merchant who offered to build a "Bourse" using his own funds if the land was available for use.

Gresham must have done something right because his efforts certainly impressed Queen Elizabeth 1 who granted it the Royal title in 1571 and ordered that the Bourse be called, "The Roiall Exchange from henceforth and not otherwise.

But back to business: What type of business will Bank suit? Well basically, any company which can rub along with other financial institutions we believe, and there is at least one business group which has has a variety of offices to let in the Bank area, ranging from serviced office space to studio space.

If your company is compatible with comparable ones already operating in Bank then you could do far worse than to make a move here. Transport is excellent as Bank is connected to five major lines.
