Park Lane Office Space

About the Area

Park Lane is a main road that runs through Westminster, which is located in London. The lane was initially just a country road that ran from north to south along what is today Hyde Park's eastern boundary. From the 18th century onward, it became a highly fashionable residential address, mainly due to the spectacular views of Hyde Park and a choice position at the western edge of London. As a result, it eventually became dotted with some of the grandest privately owned mansions in the entire city, such as the Dorchester House and the Grosvenor House. The road is a piece of English history and still very busy in the present day and age.

About the Area

Back in the 1960s, this Lane was widened to the point that it could accommodate three entire lanes of traffic. However, to accomplish this, several residences at Hyde Park Corner had to be demolished. Prior to this, the houses in question had formed a neat row to the east of Piccadilly's Apsley House. The ensuing result actually had a negative impact on Park Lane's reputation as a nice residential address. The Lane itself is approximately 1.2 kilometres long, starting at Hyde Park Corner and going to Marble Arch to the north. Though the lane's gotten busier in recent decades, the area around it is still upmarket.

Places of Interest

Due to its rich history, upmarket neighbourhood and busy location in the heart of London, Park Lane features a good number of interesting places. Businesspeople are always on the hunt for comfortable lodgings and accommodations, and this area doesn't disappoint. Just a minute away from the Lane is the InterContinental London Park Lane, a luxury hotel at 1 Hamilton Place. Another great hotel bet is The Metropolitan Hotel London, which sits on Old Park Lane. If you're craving food at an American restaurant, you can't go wrong with the Hard Rock Cafe at 150 Old Park Lane, and if you're in the mood for Japanese, head to Nobu at 19 Old Park Lane.

Transport Links

As this is a road that runs through a bustling neighbourhood in London, the transport links are second to none in terms of ease of access and efficiency. The underground stations are distributed near the Lane to ensure that you can easily travel to wherever you want to go. The Green Park Tube Station is only 7 minutes away while the Hyde Park Corner Tube Station is just 4 minutes away. The railway stations are a little bit further away, though. The Charing Cross Railway Station is 22 minutes away from the Lane, and the Victoria Railway Station is 13 minutes away.

Park Lane is still an upmarket road that cuts through a section of London. While it is a bit busier today and more travelled than in past decades, it still is both historic and fashionable. There are many hotels not too far from the Lane, with some right on it, and there is also a good selection of restaurants in and around the area. The tube and railway ensure that you have efficient transportation.
